I organised these tournaments for the first 3/4 years and it is a major pain the arse. You can't please everyone all of the time.
HH does a great job as do the volunteer refs and players who turn up year after year.
There were very few WHOers there this year and it's a shame others can't be bothered but it is what it is.

It's difficult getting the numbers right as a team organiser. I decided on 6 players per squad as the optimum number but then a couple of drops out left me with 9 across two squads.

I don't think anyone IS digging them out. I think HH did a splendid job overall, and that's precisely where his focus should have - on the tournament as a whole.
The amount of game time individuals got is something which should have been satisfactorily sorted at a team level. No-one sane would expect the bloke running the tournament to be responsible for that.

I'd have gladly been able to play a minute but couldnt due to injury, plus its not HH's fault that people didnt get game time. Its a thankless task this tournament lark, and its not even a WHO tournament anymore to be honest.
As we are all adults, i'd have thought the best thing to do was to speak to the capt and say "look, i havnt played much so i'll stay on for the whole 10 mins next game, yeah?"
I was surprised one team in particular took it so seriously tbh. Fuck reffing up there all the time. I'd end up chinning someone.

I wasn't blaming you sorry if it appears so, was just a bit frustrating.
Yes a friendly was arranged after so I got an extra half = 10 mins.
I suppose it was a bit tricky sorting teams / odd players on the day when there are so many players and not much time and some are either not turning up or turning up late.
As I said it was a good day and well done and thanks.

I'm surprised at that because your team played a 20 minute friendly game plus penalties (on top of the tournament time) against another team because you both had quite an amount of players.
What's equally as surprising is that it has anything to with me.

Good effort.
Was only saying that I got about 12 minutes of action the whole day, seriously. I spent more time on the pitch reffing than playing and I only reffed 2 games.
Am I not allowed to say that it was a bit disappointing and frustrating?
I know it was for charity and thanks for organising it

That was the one thing that did puzzle me. We had 9 players whilst other teams had less or only 5.
It meant that I got less than 20 mins game time and our team was really disjointed and didn't perform well.
We had 4 games of 10 mins each. One game I came on for 2 mins and was then subbed.

If I'd known that I'd have gladly offered gph a place in the QM 2nd team. We only had four players and I was absolutely blowing after 4 mins of our opening game.
Every year I convince myself I won't drink on the Friday night and every year I let myself down badly.

I did have a gripe about the amount of game time I got, but recognise that it was partly my fault.
If I was in a group of friends and two strangers were put in our team, I'd probably prefer to upset the strangers than my friends.

One of the issues with deciding you want to play last minute I'm afraid 13.
Quite a bit was made of that a number of times and it wiped a bit of the shine off for me.
